Jim Beach
Henry James Beach, known as Jim Beach, was born on March 9, 1942, in Gloucester. He is best recognized for his extensive career as the manager of the iconic British rock band Queen, as well as for representing its individual members. The band affectionately dubbed him "Miami," a clever nod to his surname. In 1978, Beach transitioned from legal advisor to the band's manager, a role in which he played a pivotal part in their success and global influence.
In addition to his work with Queen, Beach is a co-founder of the Transistor Project, a digital initiative developed alongside Blur's drummer, Dave Rowntree. This venture reflects his innovative approach to the music industry and his commitment to evolving with new technologies.
Residing in Montreux, Switzerland, Beach enjoys a family life with his wife, Claudia Beach. They have two children, including their son, Ol Beach, who has made a name for himself as the lead vocalist of the band Yellowire. Ol previously showcased his musical talent as the keyboardist for Wire Daisies, a group that caught the attention of Queen's own Roger Taylor.
Through his significant contributions to the music world, Jim Beach has established a legacy that intertwines with some of rock history's most memorable moments.
