Jason Paul Collum is a multifaceted American filmmaker, journalist, and author, primarily recognized for his contributions to the horror genre. He embarked on his filmmaking journey with his feature debut, “MARK OF THE DEVIL 666: THE MORALIST,” which was released in 1995 by Moore Video. Following this, he crafted two more films for Moore, including the cult favorite “5 DARK SOULS” (1996) and its sequel, “5 DARK SOULS, PART II: ROOTS OF EVIL” (1998), before relocating to Los Angeles.

In L.A., Collum collaborated with David DeCoteau at Rapid Heart Pictures, contributing to a variety of projects like “VOODOO ACADEMY” (1999) and “FINAL STAB” (2001). He also worked on commercials for notable brands like SEGA and OFF! Bug Spray, alongside horror films such as “HELL ASYLUM” (2002).

His 2000 short film, “JULIA WEPT,” garnered enough acclaim to secure funding for his next project, “SOMETHING TO SCREAM ABOUT,” which was a documentary exploring the lives of actresses in the B-movie industry and featured a major signing event in 2004. Collum’s “OCTOBER MOON” (2005) emerged as one of the pioneering gay-themed horror films, followed by its sequel, “OCTOBER MOON 2: NOVEMBER SON” in 2008, establishing the first gay horror franchise.
