Andrew Rannells

Andrew Scott Rannells was born on August 23, 1978, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Creighton Preparatory School and later spent a short time at Marymount Manhattan College. Rannells has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry, earning a Grammy Award and multiple Tony Award nominations. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Elder Price in the 2011 Broadway hit "The Book of Mormon," which earned him a Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. In 2012, he won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album as a featured soloist on the show's original cast recording.

His Broadway credits also include notable performances as Bob Gaudio in "Jersey Boys" and Link Larkin in "Hairspray." Rannells began his career in the mid-1990s as a voice artist, lending his voice to various animated series such as "Street Sharks," "One Piece," and "Yu-Gi-Oh!" He transitioned to on-screen roles with his performance as Elijah Krantz in HBO's "Girls" and as Bryan Buckley in NBC's "The New Normal." Rannells has appeared in feature films like "Sex and the City 2" (2010) and starred alongside Kirsten Dunst in "Bachelorette" (2012). In 2014, he took over the lead in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," and the following year played King George III in "Hamilton." He later portrayed Whizzer Brown in the revival of "Falsettos" and starred as Larry in "The Boys in the Band" on Broadway. Currently, Rannells plays Blair Pfaff in the Showtime comedy series "Black Monday."
