Eduardo Escorel

Eduardo Escorel de Morais, born in 1945, is a distinguished Brazilian film editor and director renowned for his contributions to cinema. He made his editing debut in 1965 with Joaquim Pedro de Andrade's film *The Priest and the Girl*, which marked the beginning of a prolific career in the film industry.

Escorel gained significant recognition for his directorial work, winning the Best Director Award at the 1976 Gramado Film Festival for his first feature film, *Lição de Amor*. He continued to impress audiences and critics alike with his second film, *Ato de Violência*, which earned him another Best Director accolade at the 1980 Brasília Film Festival.

In addition to his directorial achievements, Escorel has received numerous awards for his editing skills. He was honored with the Best Editing Award at the Brasília Film Festival for *Guerra Conjugal* in 1974 and *O Chamado de Deus* in 2000. His editing prowess was further recognized in 2002 when he won the Best Editing Award at the Gramado Film Festival for *Dois Perdidos numa Noite Suja*.
