Robert Mandan
Robert Mandan, born on February 2, 1932, in Clever, Missouri, is a distinguished American actor renowned for his diverse roles on television. His career took flight with his portrayal of playwright David Allen in the NBC soap opera *From These Roots*, which aired from 1958 to 1961. He further cemented his legacy as businessman Sam Reynolds in the long-running series *Search for Tomorrow*, where he performed from 1965 to 1970. Mandan's talent shone in the satirical sitcom *Soap*, where he played the comically inept Chester Tate from 1977 to 1981.
While engaged in *Search for Tomorrow*, he also showcased his musical abilities in the Broadway production of *Applause*. He left the soap opera to pursue other opportunities, finding success in various game shows, including *Match Game* in 1978 and *Super Password* in 1985, along with appearances on *The $20,000 Pyramid*.
Mandan's versatility extended to notable television roles, including Colonel Fielding in the adaptation of *Private Benjamin* in 1981, and as James Bradford on ABC’s *Three's a Crowd* alongside John Ritter.
