Growing up in a large family as one of ten brothers, his childhood took a challenging turn when he lost his father at the age of 11. This adversity fueled his passion for the arts, particularly fashion design, prompting him to pursue a career in the creative field.

Ng made his acting debut in the 1979 film *Caning*, where he portrayed a prisoner, marking the beginning of his journey in the film industry. He quickly ascended to fame with notable performances in various Hong Kong films, including *Fortune Hunters*, *Triad Story*, and *Angel Terminators*, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the cinematic landscape.

In 1985, Ng ventured into the fashion world by launching his own store, which flourished throughout the 1990s, showcasing his unique design aesthetic. However, in 2003, due to health issues, he made the difficult decision to close all his retail locations. Alongside his creative endeavors, Ng also pursued a passion for racing, although he ultimately relinquished this hobby at the urging of his family.
