Robert Kirkman, born on November 30, 1978, is a prominent American writer, screenwriter, and producer in the comic book industry. He gained widespread acclaim as the co-creator of several influential series, including The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Invincible, Tech Jacket, Outcast, Oblivion Song, and Fire Power, all published by Image Comics. His work also extends to Marvel Comics, where he has penned notable titles such as Ultimate X-Men, Irredeemable Ant-Man, and Marvel Zombies. Additionally, he partnered with Todd McFarlane, co-founder of Image Comics, to create the series Haunt.

Kirkman plays a vital role at Image Comics, serving as Chief Operating Officer and is recognized as one of its five partners, a distinction that makes him unique among the group as he was not one of the original founders.

In 2010, he launched Skybound Entertainment, a multimedia company aimed at bringing his creative endeavors to various platforms, including comics, film, and television. Skybound also holds the licensing rights for The Walking Dead and Invincible. In 2018, the company diversified further by establishing Skybound Games to create video games based on its properties.

Moreover, Kirkman has ventured into television production, creating and overseeing adaptations of his comics, such as Outcast and Invincible. He has contributed to the writing of episodes for both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, and he serves as the executive producer for the AMC documentary series Robert Kirkman's Secret History of Comics, as well as the Korean drama Five Year.
