Kim Jung-hyun
Kim Jung-hyun is a prominent South Korean actor recognized for his diverse roles and compelling performances. Born in Busan, South Korea, he pursued his passion for acting at the Korea National University of Arts and completed his mandatory military service at the age of 21.
Jung-hyun began his career in musical theatre before making his film debut in 2015 with "Overman" (μ΄μΈ). He transitioned to television with the drama "Jealousy Incarnate" (μ§ν¬μ νμ ), where his talent quickly garnered attention. His portrayal in "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" (μμ : λ°±μ±μ νμΉ λμ ) earned him the Best New Actor award at the 2017 MBC Drama Awards, marking a significant milestone in his career.
In 2018, he faced personal challenges during the filming of "Time" (μκ°), which led to his withdrawal from the series. Despite struggling with mental health issues, including anxiety and sleep disorders, Jung-hyun made a triumphant return to the small screen in December 2019 with "Crash Landing on You" (μ¬λμ λΆμμ°©). The series achieved remarkable success, becoming the highest-rated drama on tvN and the third-highest-rated Korean drama in cable history.
After leaving O& Entertainment, he signed with Story J Company in September 2021. However, on January 6, 2025, it was announced that he would not be renewing his contract when it expires in February. Kim Jung-hyun continues to be a notable figure in the South Korean entertainment industry, with a promising future ahead.
