David Mitchell
David James Stuart Mitchell, born on July 14, 1974, is a celebrated British comedian, actor, and author. He gained fame as one half of the comedic duo Mitchell and Webb, alongside Robert Webb. Their collaboration reached new heights with the Channel 4 sitcom "Peep Show," where Mitchell portrayed the socially awkward Mark Corrigan, earning him the British Academy Television Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2009.
Together, Mitchell and Webb crafted and performed in numerous sketch comedy series, including "Bruiser," "The Mitchell and Webb Situation," "That Mitchell and Webb Sound," and "That Mitchell and Webb Look." They also became well-known for their participation in the British adaptation of Apple's "Get a Mac" advertising campaign. Their first feature film, "Magicians," debuted in 2007, followed by the short-lived series "Ambassadors" in 2013 and the comedy-drama "Back," which aired from 2017 to 2021.
In addition to his work with Webb, Mitchell showcased his versatility in roles such as Owen in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom "Think the Unthinkable" and as William Shakespeare in "Upstart Crow" on BBC Two. He currently appears in the detective comedy-drama "Ludwig" on BBC One. A prominent figure on British panel shows, he serves as a team captain on "Would I Lie to You?" and hosts "The Unbelievable Truth" on BBC Radio 4.
