Adam Brooks, born on September 3, 1956, is a notable Canadian filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor. He gained significant recognition for his work on the romantic comedy "Definitely, Maybe," released in 2008, which he both wrote and directed. In addition to this, Brooks penned the screenplays for several popular films, including "French Kiss" (1995), "Wimbledon" (2004), and "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (2004). His career as a writer-director took off with "Almost You," which earned the Jury Prize at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in 1985.

Beyond his film endeavors, Brooks has been actively involved in the Writers Guild of America East, where he served as a council member and currently holds a position on the board of the Writers Guild of America East Foundation.
