David Sutcliffe, born on June 8, 1969, is a distinguished Canadian actor renowned for his role as Christopher Hayden, Rory Gilmore's father and Lorelai Gilmore's on-again, off-again boyfriend, in the beloved CW series Gilmore Girls.
A graduate of Victoria College at the University of Toronto in 1990, Sutcliffe studied English literature and played varsity basketball until a knee injury curtailed his athletic ambitions. His role as financier Ted Ammon in the TV movie Murder in the Hamptons further showcased his talent.
His television credits are extensive, featuring roles in series such as I'm with Her, Friends, Will & Grace, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He had a recurring role on Private Practice, appearing in 13 episodes between 2007 and 2009 as a police officer infatuated with Dr. Addison Montgomery.
