David Burrows-Sutcliffe
David Burrows-Sutcliffe, hailing from Bolton, Lancashire, grew up in a family deeply rooted in community service, with his father serving as an Anglican vicar. His early passion for the performing arts blossomed during his time at public school, where he not only participated in numerous theatrical productions but also took the initiative to produce many of them. Under the guidance of director David Self, he developed his craft and created a comedy film titled “The Weirdies.” In 1973, he lent his voice to several BBC radio projects, including narrating a Christmas story.
In 1995, David gained entry into the esteemed Drama Studio London, joining the ranks of notable alumni like Forest Whitaker and Peter Howitt, and graduated with Distinction. His time at DSL was marked by a memorable performance as Timon in “Timon of Athens” on the prestigious Olivier Stage at the National Theatre.
David's theatrical repertoire includes standout roles such as Higgins in “Pygmalion,” Gaston in “Gigi,” and Andrew Wyke in “Sleuth.” His filmography features appearances in “Sliding Doors” and “12 in a Box.” In 2000, he expanded his horizons by founding Cracking Films, a production company that has produced a variety of films.
A respected member of BAFTA and the English Speaking Union, David is also known for his engaging after-dinner speeches. He currently resides near London and enjoys traveling widely.
