David Morse
David Bowditch Morse, born on October 11, 1953, is an accomplished American actor renowned for his work in theater, television, and film. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Dr. Jack Morrison on the medical drama St. Elsewhere, which aired from 1982 to 1988. Following this breakthrough, Morse starred in a variety of notable films, including Dancer in the Dark, The Negotiator, The Green Mile, and Disturbia, among others.
In 2006, he portrayed Detective Michael Tritter on the acclaimed series House, earning an Emmy Award nomination for his performance. Morse also played George Washington in the 2008 HBO miniseries John Adams, securing him a second Emmy nomination. His stage work has been equally impressive, with a celebrated performance as Uncle Peck in How I Learned to Drive, earning him both a Drama Desk Award and an Obie Award. Additionally, he took on the role of James "Sharky" Harkin in the Broadway production of The Seafarer. As of 2011, Morse is featured in the HBO series Treme.
