Edward Albert Arthur Woodward OBE (June 1, 1930 - November 16, 2009) was a distinguished English actor and singer whose talents spanned both stage and screen. After honing his craft at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he embarked on a theatrical journey that saw him perform in iconic venues from London's West End to New York's Broadway. His film career included memorable roles, notably as Police Sergeant Howie in the 1973 cult classic horror film *The Wicker Man* and as the lead in the 1980 Australian biopic *Breaker Morant*.
