Céline Cousteau

Céline S. Cousteau, born on June 6, 1972, is a multifaceted socio-environmental advocate, filmmaker, and public speaker who continues the legacy of her renowned family of ocean explorers. As the daughter of Jean-Michel Cousteau and the granddaughter of the legendary Jacques Cousteau, she has dedicated her life to exploring and protecting our planet. Her impressive career includes roles as a documentary film director and producer, as well as serving as the founder and CEO of CauseCentric Productions, which focuses on amplifying the narratives of grassroots organizations addressing environmental and social issues.

Raised in California and France, Cousteau spent significant time aboard her grandfather's famed research vessel, the Calypso. A pivotal moment in her early life occurred when she embarked on an 18-month expedition to the Amazon at the age of nine, where she encountered uncontacted tribes and began to understand the intricate connections between humanity and the environment. This formative experience greatly influenced her future endeavors, leading her to create impactful films and art that reflect her commitment to these themes.

In 2019, she released her first feature documentary, "Tribes on Edge," which highlights the struggles of indigenous tribes in Brazil's Vale do Javari.
