R. Sarathkumar
Ramanathan Sarathkumar, widely recognized as R. Sarathkumar, is a multifaceted Indian film actor, accomplished journalist, and politician, as well as a former bodybuilder. With a remarkable career that spans over three decades, he has appeared in more than 130 films across various languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada, and is fluent in these languages along with English.
Sarathkumar began his acting journey in 1986 with the Telugu film *Samajamlo Sthree*. Initially, he portrayed antagonistic characters and subsequently took on supporting roles, eventually rising to prominence as a leading actor. His impressive performances earned him the moniker "Supreme Star" within Tamil cinema. Throughout his career, he has received notable accolades, including two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.
In addition to his film career, Sarathkumar ventured into politics in 2007 by founding the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) in Tamil Nadu, aspiring to uphold the principles of K. Kamaraj. He has also served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Tenkasi constituency. His leadership skills were evident during his tenure as the president of the Nadigar Sangam, where he served three consecutive terms from 2006 to 2015, significantly impacting the film industry.
