Brian Henson
Brian Henson, born on November 3, 1963, in New York City, is a prominent American puppeteer, filmmaker, and actor, currently serving as the chairman of The Jim Henson Company. He is the youngest child of famed puppeteers Jim Henson and Jane Henson, and he has four siblings: Lisa, Cheryl, John, and Heather.
Growing up in a creative environment, Brian made early appearances in his father's iconic PBS series, Sesame Street. As a teenager, he crafted the first Muppet penguin puppet for The Muppet Show and participated in the production of The Great Muppet Caper at just 17. His talent for marionette puppetry shone through in various projects, including The Muppets Take Manhattan.
Brian's film career includes notable roles such as Jack Pumpkinhead in Return to Oz and the voice of Hoggle in Labyrinth. In the 1990s, he directed beloved Muppet films like The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, showcasing his versatility in both performance and direction. He also took on the role of Dr. Phil van Neuter in Muppets from Space.
Beyond film, Henson has executive produced several television series, including Dinosaurs and Farscape. He continues to innovate in the puppet genre with projects like Puppet Up! and Muppets Haunted Mansion. Henson was previously married to Ellis Flyte and is now married to actress Mia Sara, with whom he shares a daughter born in 2005.
