Heikki Koort (March 1, 1955 – May 21, 2021) was a multifaceted Estonian diplomat, athlete, and actor, whose contributions spanned various fields. Born in Tallinn, he made his acting debut at just 14 years old, portraying Peterson in the 1969 film *Kevade*, directed by Arvo Kruusement. This film, a beloved adaptation of Oskar Luts' 1913 novella, marked the beginning of his artistic career. Following that, Koort played the character Agu Sihvka in the 1970 television film *Agu Sihvka annab aru*. He completed his secondary education at Tallinn 47th Secondary School, graduating in 1973, and went on to earn a degree in Cultural Education from Tallinn Pedagogical University in 1977.

In addition to his acting endeavors, Koort was a distinguished karate practitioner. Between 1975 and 1983, he secured multiple medals at the Estonian national championships, showcasing his skill and dedication to the martial art. He also served as the president of the Estonian Karate Federation from 1992 to 2000, promoting the sport within Estonia.

Transitioning into diplomacy, he worked as a counselor at the Estonian Foreign Ministry from 1991 to 2007, with notable postings in Moscow (1995-1997) and Ankara (2000-2003). Heikki Koort's legacy is defined by his diverse talents and enduring contributions to Estonian culture, sports, and international relations.
