Gord Rand
Gord Rand is a distinguished Canadian actor and playwright, widely recognized for his portrayal of Det. Marty Duko on the acclaimed television series *Orphan Black*. His compelling performance earned him a nomination for Best Performance in a Guest Role in a Dramatic Series at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2017.
In addition to his work on *Orphan Black*, Rand has received two nominations for ACTRA Awards, one in 2017 for *Orphan Black* and another in 2019 for his role in the film *Man Running*. He also garnered a Dora Mavor Moore Award in 2006 for his exceptional performance in Michael Healey's play *The Innocent Eye Test* at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Rand's extensive television credits include appearances in *Everest '82*, *Durham County*, *Combat Hospital*, *Cardinal*, *Pure*, and *Chapelwaite*. He has also featured in films such as *Maps to the Stars*, *The Definites*, *Mayerthorpe*, *An Audience of Chairs*, and *Home Free*. His stage work encompasses notable productions like *Hamlet* with Necessary Angel Theatre, *Abyss* at Tarragon Theatre, *Oedipus Rex* for the Stratford Festival, and *The Runner* at Theatre Passe Muraille. In 2021, he joined the cast of the television series *Transplant* for its second season.
As a playwright, Rand has penned works including *Orgy in the Lighthouse* and *The Trouble with Mr. Adams*. He is an alumnus of the theatre program at the University of Toronto and is married to actress Jeanie Calleja, with whom he shares two children.
