**John Rutherford**
Renowned producer and director John Rutherford, who serves as President and Creative Director of COLT Studio Group, has made a significant impact on the adult film industry, with a remarkable portfolio of over 350 man-on-man films. His distinctive cinematic style has earned him numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from AVN in 2001, the Hall of Fame Award from the Grabby's in 2002, and a second Lifetime Achievement Award from the Free Speech Coalition in 2006. Additionally, he has secured the title of Best Director five times at the GayVN Awards.
After spending nearly 15 years with the Falcon Family of Companies, Rutherford left in June 2003 to purchase COLT Studio Group, continuing the legacy of its esteemed founder, Jim French. Since taking over, he has directed and produced over a dozen films under the John Rutherford Feature brand, striving to merge the studio's historic roots with the evolving landscape of the industry.
A California native, Rutherford graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Broadcast Communication Arts. His career began as a freelance producer and videographer before he was recruited by Falcon in 1993. His directorial work has included award-winning titles such as *Flashpoint*, *The Other Side of Aspen III & IV*, and the recent hit *BuckleRoos*. Known for his dedication and approachability, Rutherford continues to elevate the quality and creativity of his films. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his partner, Tom Settle, whom he has been with since 2000.
