Jorma Tommila

Jorma Tommila, born in 1959 in Rauma, Finland, is a distinguished Finnish actor celebrated for his compelling performances on both stage and screen. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Aatami Korpi in the 2022 film "Sisu," a role that has drawn comparisons to iconic characters like Rambo and John Wick, establishing him as a notable figure in contemporary action cinema.

Tommila's early life was marked by adversity, losing his father at a young age due to wartime injuries. He was raised by his mother alongside his sister, Kielo Tommila, who also pursued a career in acting. Jorma's personal life is intertwined with the arts; he is married to actress Ida Helander-Tommila and is the father of Onni Tommila, who has followed in his footsteps.

His journey in acting took a radical turn during his time at the Helsinki Theatre Academy, where he co-founded God's Theater in 1987. This avant-garde group was known for its provocative performances that often pushed boundaries, resulting in legal troubles that included arrests and expulsion from the academy.
