Pif
Pierfrancesco Diliberto, widely known as Pif, was born on June 4, 1972, in Palermo, Italy. He is a multifaceted talent, recognized as a television presenter, film director, actor, and author. Growing up in a family connected to the film industry, with his father being director Maurizio Diliberto, Pif developed a deep-seated enthusiasm for cinema from an early age.
His professional journey commenced in 1998 when he served as an assistant director for Marco Tullio Giordana on the critically acclaimed film *I cento passi* (The Hundred Steps), which addresses the mafia's impact on society. That same year, he transitioned into television as a writer for Mediaset. Pif became a familiar face in 2001 when he joined the cast of *Le Iene* (The Hyenas), an Italian show known for its incisive and satirical journalistic approach.
In 2007, he launched his own program, *Il Testimone* (The Witness), on MTV, where he crafted engaging, semi-documentary reports both in Italy and internationally. He also authored *Piffettopoli. Le fatiche di un quasi vip* in the same year.
Pif further cemented his reputation in 2012 by contributing a short story to the tribute volume *Dove eravamo. Vent'anni dopo Capaci e Via D'Amelio*, commemorating the sacrifices of judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. His film career took off in 2013 with the release of *The Mafia Kills Only in the Summer*, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. This success led to a TV series adaptation of the film. In 2016, he showcased his directorial prowess again with *In guerra per amore* at the Rome Film Festival.
