Edmund Breon (12 December 1882 – 24 June 1953) was a distinguished Scottish actor known for his extensive work in both film and theater, with a prolific career spanning from 1907 to 1952, during which he featured in 131 films.

Born Iver Edmund de Breon MacLaverty in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, he began his journey in the performing arts with John Hare’s touring company, eventually gaining recognition on the West End stage and in Glasgow. Breon's early career included silent films in France, where he appeared under the name Edmond Bréon in numerous Gaumont productions between 1907 and 1922. His portrayal of Inspector Juve in the influential Fantômas series directed by Louis Feuillade is particularly noteworthy, showcasing his talent in early cinema. He also had a minor role in Feuillade's Les Vampires during 1915-1916.

Upon returning to Britain, Breon starred in A Little Bit of Fluff (1928) before relocating to Canada in 1929, where he worked on a farm. He moved to the United States in 1930 and secured his first significant role in The Dawn Patrol. Over the subsequent two decades, he balanced appearances in British and American films with stage performances, including the West End comedy Spring Meeting in 1938.

Despite facing interruptions due to serious illness and an accident that sidelined him for two years, Breon continued to leave a lasting impact on the entertainment industry until his passing in his homeland on June 24, 1953.
