Tex Watson
Charles Denton "Tex" Watson, born on December 2, 1945, is an American individual recognized for his involvement in a series of infamous murders as a key figure within the "Manson Family," a cult led by Charles Manson. Watson played a pivotal role in the brutal Tate-LaBianca murders that occurred on the nights of August 9 and 10, 1969. Alongside fellow cult members Patricia Krenwinkel and Susan Atkins, he was responsible for the horrific killings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and four others at 10050 Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles. The following evening, Watson continued his violent spree by participating in the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in Los Feliz.
In 1971, Watson was found guilty of multiple counts of murder and initially sentenced to death. However, following a ruling by the California Supreme Court in 1972 that deemed the death penalty unconstitutional, his sentence was commuted. Since becoming eligible for parole in 1976, Watson has faced rejection on 18 occasions as he remains incarcerated. His criminal actions and subsequent legal battles have made him a notorious figure in American criminal history, emblematic of the dark legacy of the Manson Family's reign of terror during the late 1960s.
