Anne Haney, born Anne Ryan Thomas on March 4, 1934, was a distinguished American actress known for her work in both theater and film. She gained notable recognition for her portrayal of the social worker Mrs. Sellner in the beloved film Mrs. Doubtfire, as well as her role as Greta, the secretary, in Liar Liar.

Haney made memorable appearances in the Star Trek franchise, featuring as Rishon Uxbridge in the episode "The Survivors" of Star Trek: The Next Generation, followed by a role as a Bajoran arbitrator in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's "Dax." She was also a familiar face on the popular sitcom Mama's Family, where she played Alberta Meechum, the rival of Thelma Harper. On the series Our House, she portrayed the meticulous neighbor Virginia Taft, and in L.A. Law, she appeared as Judge Marilyn Travelini.

Her extensive television career included guest roles on various shows, such as Cheers, Designing Women, The Golden Palace, Charmed, Boy Meets World, Columbo, ER, and she even featured in Curb Your Enthusiasm as the mother of Mary Steenburgen's character. One of her final appearances was in the January 8, 2001, episode of Ally McBeal titled "Reasons to Believe."

Sadly, Anne Haney passed away from heart failure on May 26, 2001, at the age of 67.
