Mahmoud Abdel Aziz

Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, born in Alexandria, Egypt, into a middle-class family, initially pursued a degree in Agricultural Sciences. However, his passion for acting blossomed during his university years, where he engaged in theater performances.

His professional acting journey commenced in the mid-1970s with a role in the television series "Al Dawama," alongside notable actors Nelly and Mahmoud Yassin. This venture into television paved the way for his cinematic debut in the iconic film "Al Hafeed," marking the beginning of a prolific career. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Abdel Aziz starred in over 25 films, primarily in the romantic drama genre, gaining widespread acclaim and establishing himself as a beloved figure in Egyptian cinema.

The 1980s proved to be a defining decade for him, as he transitioned into diverse roles that showcased his impressive versatility. He became a household name, starring in critically and commercially successful projects like "El Aar," "El Keef," and the acclaimed television series "Rafat El Haggan," which chronicled the life of a legendary Egyptian spy embedded in Israel for two decades prior to the Six-Day War.

Over his illustrious career, Mahmoud Abdel Aziz appeared in more than 100 films. His remarkable talent continued to shine, exemplified by his return to television with the series "Bab El Khalk" in 2012, following a seven-year hiatus. He is also a proud father to two sons, Mohamed, a film producer and director, and Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
