S. Krishnamoorthy, popularly known as Madhan Bob, is a renowned Tamil actor and comedian whose career has left a significant mark on the film industry. Initially embarking on his journey as a musician, he transitioned into acting, gaining recognition for his comedic talent. Madhan Bob made his film debut in "Vaaname Ellai" and has since appeared in numerous Tamil films, often in supporting roles that showcased his unique humor and charisma. He is also recognized for his role as a judge on the popular Sun TV comedy show "Asathapovathu Yaaru," which further solidified his status in the entertainment realm.
Born as the eighth child in his family, his original name, Krishnamurthy, was changed to Madan to avoid confusion with his uncle's name. His brother, Padmanabhan, affectionately known as Babu, collaborated with him to form a music group called ‘Madan and Babu.’ Babu later adopted the name Bob, and it was under this moniker that director K. Balachander introduced Madhan Bob in his first film.
A notable incident in his life occurred during the filming of "Mappillai," when an accident left him and his assistant injured after their car overturned while swerving to avoid a dog. Despite the severity of the situation, Madhan Bob bravely broke the glass door to rescue his assistant and the driver. After receiving medical attention, he returned to the set to continue filming, exemplifying his dedication to his craft.
