Frant Gwo

Frant Gwo, known in Chinese as Guo Fan (郭帆), is a prominent filmmaker from China whose career began in 2011 with his directorial debut, Lee's Adventure. He gained significant recognition in 2014 with the successful romantic drama My Old Classmate, which resonated with audiences and showcased his talent for storytelling.

Gwo's most notable achievement came in 2019 when he directed The Wandering Earth, a groundbreaking science fiction film that marked a milestone as China's first high-budget entry into the genre. The film not only captivated audiences but also emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in Chinese cinema history, earning widespread acclaim for its ambitious narrative and visual effects.
