Denise Gordy

Denise Georgette Gordy, born to George and Rosemary Gordy, is part of a talented family, including her siblings Patrice and George Gordy, Jr. Notably, she is the niece of Motown founder Berry Gordy and the niece of Anna Gordy Gaye. Denise's career in the entertainment industry began in 1972 when she featured as a dancer in the film *Lady Sings the Blues*. Over the years, she showcased her talents in various television and theater productions, with a notable appearance in the film *Black Fist* in 1974, where she also lent her voice to the soundtrack, contributing to the song "Let's Do It Again."

Marvin Gaye III's father, the famed singer Marvin Gaye, was married to Denise's aunt Anna at the time, and Denise gave birth to him at Anna's request due to her aunt's struggles with conception. Following his birth, Marvin III was adopted by Anna Gordy.
