Sara Watkins
Sara Ullrika Watkins, born on June 8, 1981, is a celebrated American singer-songwriter and accomplished fiddler. She gained prominence in 1989 as a founding member of the innovative bluegrass ensemble Nickel Creek, alongside her brother Sean and mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile. Throughout her career with Nickel Creek, the group produced five studio albums, a compilation album, and seven singles, contributing significantly to the genre's evolution.
In addition to her fiddle work, Watkins is a versatile musician who plays the ukulele and guitar. She has also showcased her percussion skills during tours with the indie rock band The Decemberists. Following a seven-year hiatus from Nickel Creek, she embarked on a successful solo career, releasing three notable albums: "Sara Watkins," "Sun Midnight Sun," both on Nonesuch Records, and "Young in All the Wrong Ways" under New West Records.
