P.H. Moriarty

P.H. Moriarty, a distinguished British actor, became renowned for his portrayals of tough characters and gangsters. His journey into the acting world began later in life, following a diverse career that included stints as a boxer and a longshoreman. It was during his time on the docks that serendipity struck; a film production company happened to notice him and offered him a role, marking the commencement of his cinematic career.

Moriarty gained considerable recognition for his roles in several notable films, including Guy Ritchie's iconic debut, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, as well as the classic British thriller The Long Good Friday. He also appeared in the third installment of the Jaws franchise, Jaws 3-D, and showcased his versatility in the sci-fi Western Outland (1981). In addition to his film work, Moriarty made significant contributions to British television, featuring in a variety of TV shows and movies that further solidified his reputation.

With a career that spanned several decades, P.H. Moriarty left an indelible mark on the film and television industries, captivating audiences with his compelling performances until his passing on 2 September 2023.
