Mehmet Kurtuluş
Mehmet Kurtuluş is a notable actor from Turkey. He was born in Uşak and relocated to Germany at the tender age of 18 months, where he was raised alongside his brother, Tekin, in Salzgitter, situated in Lower Saxony.
Kurtuluş began his career by taking on various minor roles in television shows, while also engaging in theater performances. His significant breakthrough came with his portrayal of Gabriel, a young Turkish boy, in Fatih Akın's film Kurz und schmerzlos (Short Sharp Shock). Following this achievement, he starred in the acclaimed mini-series Der Tunnel, directed by Roland Suso Richter, sharing the screen with actors Heino Ferch and Nicolette Krebitz. He was later selected by Doris Dörrie to feature in her comedy film Naked.
Kurtuluş returned to television for the romantic film Eine Liebe in Saigon (Love in Saigon), where he acted alongside Désirée Nosbusch, a Luxembourgian actress with whom he is currently engaged. He further garnered attention for his role as the lead detective in six episodes of the iconic German crime series Tatort. After these ventures, he expressed his intentions to pursue international projects, expanding his career beyond the German-speaking market.
