Neil Edmond
Neil Edmond, born in December 1970, is a talented British actor and comedy writer known for his work in both sketch comedy and radio. He gained prominence as part of the comedic trio The Consultants, which included James Rawlings and Justin Edwards. Their unique style earned them the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2002. Following this success, The Consultants produced four series for BBC Radio 4 from 2002 to 2005. Edmond also created and starred in the radio sitcom "Knocker" for BBC 7 and contributed to two series of "Bigipedia."
In 2012, he showcased his acting chops as the overwhelmed emergency architect Mike Whitaker in the acclaimed series "Twenty Twelve." Edmond is also celebrated for his solo character performances, particularly his roles as the Space School headmaster and Market Researcher, both of which have been hits in live shows.
Additionally, he collaborated with the late Ken Campbell and was a member of the sketch group The Benders. His versatility extends to interactive web comedy, where he played 'Ian' in "Where are the Joneses?" and he creatively enhances readings of horror literature and Danielle Steel's poetry with improvisational dance at Robin Ince's Book Club.
His co-written sitcom "Home Time," alongside Emma Fryer, received nominations for Best Sitcom at the 2010 South Bank Show Awards and The Rose D'Or. More recently, in 2019, Edmond appeared as the recurring character Ian in the Martin Clunes sitcom "Warren" on BBC1.
