Ita Ever, born Ilse Ever on April 1, 1931, was a prominent Estonian actress celebrated for her extensive work in film, radio, theater, and television. Known as a Grand Old Lady of Estonian theatre, Ever made her mark in the performing arts, starting her illustrious career in 1953 as a stage actress. Over the decades, she showcased her talent in a variety of Estonian and Russian film productions, becoming a beloved figure in both countries.

Ever was married to fellow actor Eino Baskin and was the mother of Roman Baskin, who followed in her footsteps as a director and actor. One of her standout performances came in 1983 when she portrayed Miss Marple in the Russian film adaptation of Agatha Christie's "A Pocket Full of Rye," titled "Secret of the Blackbirds" (Тайна «Чёрных дроздов»).

Throughout her career, she brought to life characters from a wide range of literary sources, including the works of notable authors such as Oskar Luts, A. H.
