Park Bo-gum (Hangul: 박보검), born on June 16, 1993, is a celebrated South Korean actor and singer known for his versatile performances across various genres in both film and television. He first gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of a psychopathic lawyer in the 2015 drama *Hello Monster*. His role as a brilliant Go player in the nostalgic series *Reply 1988* (2015–2016) further solidified his status as a leading star. Park captured hearts as a Joseon Crown Prince in the historical romance *Love in the Moonlight* (2016) and later showcased his acting range in *Encounter* (2018), where he played a free-spirited man in love with an older woman. Most recently, he starred in *Record of Youth* (2020), depicting the journey of a model overcoming challenges to achieve his dream of becoming an actor.

The youngest of three siblings, Park faced adversity early in life with the loss of his mother during his childhood. Despite this, he embraced music, starting piano lessons in kindergarten and participating in church choirs. His journey into acting began during high school when he sent a video of his musical talents to talent agencies, leading to multiple offers. Initially aspiring to be a singer-songwriter, he shifted his focus to acting after encouragement from industry professionals. After graduating from Shinmok High School in 2012, he pursued a degree in Musical Theater at Myongji University, which included a cultural exchange program across Europe in 2015.
