Tomorowo Taguchi, born on November 30, 1957, is a multifaceted Japanese actor whose career spans various artistic realms. Initially, he left Dokkyo University before completing his degree and embarked on a creative journey as an illustrator, writer, and pornographic cartoonist. In 1978, he joined the theater group Hakken no Kai, marking the beginning of his acting career. Taguchi made his film debut in 1982 with "Zokubutsu Zukan," a movie adapted from Yasutaka Tsutsui's book.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, he gained recognition not only as an actor but also as a notable cult musician within Tokyo's underground music scene through his band Bachikaburi. However, he is perhaps best known internationally for his pivotal role in Shinya Tsukamoto's groundbreaking films, "Tetsuo" and "Tetsuo II." Taguchi frequently collaborates with acclaimed director Takashi Miike, further solidifying his status in Japanese cinema.

Additionally, he became a familiar voice in Japanese media as the narrator of the NHK documentary series "Project X - Challengers," which aired from 2000 to 2005. In 2003, he stepped behind the camera to direct "Iden & Tity," and he is set to release his second film, "Shikisoku Generation," in 2009. Taguchi's diverse talents continue to leave a significant mark on the Japanese entertainment landscape.
