Mark Mitchell
Mark Mitchell, born on September 29, 1954, is a renowned Australian actor, comedian, and contemporary artist, celebrated primarily for his iconic portrayal of Con the Fruiterer.
Mitchell began his career in education, earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Diploma of Education from Rusden College. He taught middle and senior English for five years before heeding his passion for performance. Mark's breakthrough came with the popular television series The Comedy Company, which aired from 1988 to 1990. His larger-than-life character, Con, a Greek fruiterer, resonated deeply with Australian audiences and became a beloved figure, particularly within the Greek community.
Following his success on television, Mitchell garnered attention in both local and international films. His notable works include appearances in The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas (1996), Like Mother Like Son: The Strange Story of Sante and Kenny Kimes (2001), Blonde (2001), On the Beach (2000), Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story (2001), and Inspector Gadget 2 (2003).
