Türkan Şoray, born on June 28, 1945, is a renowned Turkish actress, author, and film director, often affectionately referred to as the "Sultan" of Turkish cinema. Launching her illustrious career in 1960, Şoray has made an indelible mark on the film industry, appearing in over 222 films, a record that positions her as the female actress with the highest number of feature film appearances globally.

Her breakthrough came with the film *Acı Hayat* (Bitter Life), which earned her the title of Most Successful Actress at the inaugural Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. This accolade marked the beginning of a series of honors that would come her way throughout her career.
