Lorna Raver
Lorna Raver (October 9, 1943 - May 12, 2025) was a distinguished American actress known for her extensive work across theater, film, and television. Occasionally recognized under the name Lorna Raver Johnson, she left a lasting impact on the performing arts.
Hailing from York County, Pennsylvania, Raver's acting journey began at the Hedgerow Theater. She later transitioned to New York City, where she made her mark in off-Broadway productions such as Last Days at the Dixie Girl Cafe and Between Daylight and Boonville. Her career flourished as she worked as a stage actress in Chicago and throughout the region, eventually relocating to Los Angeles, where she excelled in various guest roles on television.
Raver's theatrical repertoire included acclaimed performances in plays like The Seagull, Spinning into Butter, and Oedipus Rex. Her portrayal in The Drama Coach earned her both the Drama-Logue and LA Weekly awards, showcasing her talent and dedication. Additionally, she contributed to radio drama, broadening her artistic reach.
On September 19, 2006, Raver joined the cast of CBS's The Young and the Restless as Rebecca Kaplan, a role previously held by Millie Perkins. She gained significant recognition for her chilling performance as Mrs. Ganush in Sam Raimi’s horror film Drag Me to Hell. Raver also made her mark as an audiobook narrator, working with notable companies like Tantor, Books on Tape, and Blackstone Audio, often alongside her partner, Yuri Rasovsky.
