Gerda Nicolson (11 November 1937 – 12 June 1992) was a prominent Australian actress recognized for her significant contributions to both theatre and television. She gained widespread acclaim for her enduring role in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's daily soap opera, *Bellbird*, which introduced her to a broad audience. Following this, Nicolson secured a regular part in the police drama *Bluey* in 1976. However, she is perhaps most celebrated for her portrayal of Governor Ann Reynolds in the iconic soap opera *Prisoner*, a role she inhabited from 1983 until the show's conclusion in 1986. This series gained a devoted international following in the 1990s and 2000s, solidifying Nicolson's place in television history. Additionally, she made a memorable appearance in *Neighbours*, playing Robyn Taylor, who almost engaged in an affair with the character Harold Bishop. Tragically, Nicolson's life was cut short when she collapsed in her dressing room just before a theatre performance in 1992. She passed away ten days later in a hospital due to a massive stroke, at the age of 54. Gerda Nicolson's legacy as a talented performer continues to be remembered by fans and peers alike.
