Alicia Keys

Alicia Augello Cook, widely recognized as Alicia Keys, was born on January 25, 1981, and has made a significant mark as an American singer-songwriter. A gifted pianist with classical training, she began writing her own music at just 12 years of age. By 15, she was signed by Columbia Records, but after some conflicts with the label, she moved to Arista Records. In 2001, she released her debut album, *Songs in A Minor*, under J Records. The album received widespread acclaim, showcasing her musical prowess and artistic vision, and included her first Billboard Hot 100 hit, "Fallin'". It went on to sell over 12 million copies globally and earned her five Grammy Awards in 2002.

Keys' sophomore effort, *The Diary of Alicia Keys* (2003), was another triumph, featuring hits like "You Don't Know My Name" and "If I Ain't Got You," and securing her four more Grammy Awards. The following years saw her release several successful albums, including *As I Am* (2007), which produced the chart-topping "No One."
