Ruri Shinato
Ruri Shinato was a talented Japanese actress, model, and gravure idol hailing from Hakusan, Ishikawa. Born in Hokkaido as the youngest of three siblings, she later relocated to Ishikawa Prefecture. Ruri pursued her education at Tokyo Metropolitan National High School and graduated from Sophia University, where she majored in German literature.
In 2013, Ruri gained widespread recognition by winning the prestigious MISS FLASH title alongside fellow contestants Ikeda Yuko and Nagai Rina. She was also a prominent member of the gravure idol group G☆Girls but decided to leave the group on February 26, 2016, to focus on her acting career.
On October 31, 2018, she parted ways with Legend Talent Agency and embarked on a freelance journey for nearly a year before joining G-STAR.PRO Co., Ltd. This transition marked her complete departure from gravure idol work, allowing her to fully embrace her acting aspirations.
Ruri garnered attention for her role as an apathetic employee in the fifth episode of "Hanzawa Naoki," where her expressive performance captured the interest of viewers on social media.
Tragically, on August 28, 2020, her family discovered her unresponsive in her Tokyo home, and it was later confirmed that she had passed away at the age of 31 due to a chronic illness. Following a thorough investigation, authorities ruled out any foul play or suicide. Her agency publicly announced her untimely death on August 31, 2020.
