Matthew "Matt" Le Nevez, born on January 10, 1979, in Canberra, Australia, is a talented actor renowned for his compelling performances in both television and film. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Dr. Patrick Reid in the beloved series Offspring and as Detective Brian Dutch in the atmospheric sci-fi drama The Kettering Incident.

Le Nevez's early education included The French-Australian Preschool, Telopea Park School, and St Edmund's College, Canberra. At 17, he was accepted into the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where he graduated in 1999. His acting career began with minor roles in the sci-fi series Farscape and the teen drama Head Start. In 2002, he made his film debut in Garage Days, playing a rock star, and followed this with a notable role in the miniseries Post Card Bandit.

His breakthrough came in 2003 with the ABC miniseries Marking Time, which earned him an AFI Television Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Le Nevez's acclaimed performance as Mathew Wales in the 2006 TV movie The Society Murders won him a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor. He went on to appear in various projects, including the film The Tender Hook and the comedy/drama Offspring, where his character's shocking exit sparked significant viewer reactions.

In subsequent years, he portrayed former cricketer Dennis Lillee in Howzat! Kerry Packer's War and took on the role of Peter Brock in the miniseries Brock. As of 2014, he joined the cast of Love Child and continued to make his mark in the industry with diverse roles.
