Geny Prado

Genny Almeida Prado, born on July 12, 1918, in São Manuel, Brazil, was a celebrated actress renowned for her contributions to radio, television, and film. She gained prominence for her memorable performances as the wife of the beloved comedian Mazzaropi, a partnership that became iconic in Brazilian cinema.

Throughout her illustrious film career, Genny starred alongside Mazzaropi in 18 out of his 32 productions, portraying his wife in most of them. One notable exception was the film "Zé do Periquito" released in 1960, where their characters had no familial ties. Their on-screen chemistry and comedic timing solidified them as one of the most cherished duos in Brazilian film history, leading many to mistakenly believe they were married in real life.
