David Hallyday
David Hallyday, born David Michael Benjamin Smet on August 14, 1966, in Boulogne-Billancourt, is a prominent French singer, songwriter, and passionate amateur sports car racer. He hails from a lineage of musical talent, being the son of renowned French artists Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan, and the older half-brother of actress Laura Smet. Additionally, he is related to actor Michael Vartan as a first cousin.
Hallyday gained recognition not only for his own musical endeavors but also for his songwriting contributions, including a notable collaboration with his father on the 1999 album *Sang pour sang*. His foray into acting began with the 1987 teen comedy *He's My Girl*, for which he performed the title track that peaked at #79 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. His 1991 album *Rock 'n' Heart* featured the hit single "Ooh La La," which climbed to #51 on the Hot 100.
In his personal life, Hallyday was married to model Estelle Lefébure from 1989 until their divorce in 2001, with whom he shares two children. He later wed Alexandra Pastor, daughter of businessman Michel Pastor, on June 3, 2004.
