Leo Gullotta
Salvatore Leopoldo "Leo" Gullotta, born on January 9, 1946, is a renowned Italian actor, voice actor, comedian, and author.
Hailing from Catania and the youngest of six siblings, Gullotta commenced his career as an extra at Teatro Massimo Bellini. Throughout his extensive career, he has appeared in approximately 100 films and has been featured in a variety of television programs and drama series. His first significant accolade came in 1987 when he received the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Giuseppe Tornatore's *Il Camorrista*. He collaborated with Tornatore on four additional occasions. Gullotta garnered two more David di Donatello awards for Best Supporting Actor, in 1997 and 2000, for his roles in Maurizio Zaccaro's *Il carniere* and *Un uomo perbene*. Additionally, he has earned Silver Ribbons for Best Supporting Actor, winning in 1984 for Nanni Loy's *Mi manda Picone* and in 2001 for Renzo Martinelli's *Vajont*.
In the realm of theater, Gullotta has participated in numerous plays and was a member of the "Il Bagaglino" theater company. He was honored with the Flaiano Prize as the stage actor of the year in 2010, marking fifty years in the industry.
As a prominent voice actor, he is best known for voicing Manny in the first three *Ice Age* films, as well as dubbing roles for Burt Young in *Rocky* and Joe Pesci in several films. He took over as the Italian voice for Woody Allen in 2009.
Gullotta made his writing debut in 1998 with the book *Mille fili d'erba* (Di Renzo Editore). Openly gay, he publicly acknowledged his sexuality in 1995 and married his partner of 32 years in 2019
