Gwilym Lee
Gwilym Lee, born on November 24, 1983, is a talented Welsh actor celebrated for his diverse performances across film and television. He gained widespread recognition for portraying guitarist Brian May in the acclaimed biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and starred in the romantic comedy Top End Wedding (2019).
Lee's acting career began at a young age with a leading role in the television series based on the Animal Ark books from 1997 to 1998. At just 16, he made his mark with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a production of Richard III. His television repertoire includes notable roles in the beloved series Midsomer Murders (2013-2015), where he played DS Charlie Nelson, and Jamestown (2017), as well as a role in the critically acclaimed The Great (2020).
His stage work has garnered significant accolades; he received commendation at the 2008 Ian Charleson Awards for his role in the National Theatre's Oedipus and clinched the first prize at the 2011 Ian Charleson Award for his portrayal of Edgar in King Lear at the Donmar Warehouse.
