Warwick Gilbert

Warwick Gilbert, born in 1950 in Sydney, Australia, has made significant contributions to the animation field as a director, animator, and storyboard artist. His illustrious career spanned from 1968 to 2006, during which he collaborated with renowned companies such as Burbank Films, Hanna Barbera, and Walt Disney. Alongside his animation endeavors, Warwick also pursued a vibrant musical career, playing bass for several influential bands, including The Hitmen, The Raouls, Nitebeat, and Radio Birdman, the latter of which was honored with induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007.

After the closure of Walt Disney's Australian studio in 2006, Warwick transitioned towards focusing on his artistic talents. He and his wife, Julie Mostyn, relocated to Coffs Harbour, where he dedicated himself to creating and showcasing his artwork. One of his notable achievements during this period was the successful exhibition titled "The Art of Radio Birdman," held in Double Bay, Sydney, which celebrated the band's legacy and Warwick's unique artistic vision. His diverse skill set and creative pursuits highlight a remarkable career that bridges animation and music, leaving a lasting impact on both industries.
