John Capodice
John Capodice (December 25, 1941 – December 30, 2024) was a distinguished American character actor known for his versatile performances across film, television, and theater. Capodice embarked on his acting journey in the late 1970s, making his debut on the ABC soap opera *Ryan's Hope,* where he portrayed Lloyd Lord in a six-episode arc. Over the years, he made memorable guest appearances on numerous popular television shows, including *Spenser: For Hire,* *Seinfeld,* *Murder, She Wrote,* and *Law & Order.* Notably, he guest-starred in *Will & Grace* as a repairman who unexpectedly suffers a heart attack and had a role in the acclaimed series *The West Wing* and *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.*
In addition to his television work, Capodice gained recognition for a memorable 1980s advertisement for Polly-O String Cheese, where he played a befuddled pizzeria owner. He also featured as a truck driver in a well-known Dimetapp Cold Medicine commercial.
Capodice's theatrical contributions included performances in Off-Broadway productions, such as the prison guard in *Getting Out*, which won two Outer Critics Circle Awards. On Broadway, he shared the stage with talents like John Lithgow and George Segal in *Requiem For a Heavyweight.*
His film career featured roles in various notable projects, including *Q* (1982), *Family Business* (1989), *The Doors* (1991), and *Independence Day* (1996). He also lent his voice to the video game *Mafia II* in 2010, showcasing his diverse talents throughout his career.
