Janelle Hutchison

Janelle Hutchison is a seasoned professional in the arts, bringing over 35 years of rich experience in both the United States and Canada. Her impressive career includes significant roles such as Associate Casting Director at the Canadian Film Centre and Senior Casting Associate at Stephanie Gorin Casting. Hutchison has also shared her expertise in musical theatre audition techniques at the Randolph Academy and has led On-Camera audition workshops, in addition to providing private coaching.

Her acting credentials are highlighted by her acclaimed performance as Mme. Thenardier in the original Canadian production of Les Misérables, where she captivated audiences in over 1,500 shows. Hutchison's extensive theatre resume features notable productions such as White Christmas, Company, Gypsy, Oliver, Isn’t It Romantic, Crimes of the Heart, and Anne of Green Gables. Furthermore, her work in television and film has reached a wide audience through major networks including ABC, NBC, SOAPnet, CBC, CTV, Global, TVO, and CBS.

In 2004, she graduated from the Canadian Film Centre’s esteemed Alliance Atlantis Film Resident Programme. Today, Hutchison is an award-winning screenwriter dedicated to developing a compelling collection of short stories, continuing her legacy in the arts and storytelling.
